Formed just before the Scottish Elections in 2021 and led by the Former First Minister Alex Salmond until his tragic death on 12 October 2024, the ALBA Party was founded with one aim - to end the stalemate that had developed between the Scottish and UK Governments over the future of Scotland. Ever since our inception we have called for a united approach on independence because Scotland's future is more important than any single party. As Westminster continues to drive Scotland into economic despair, it is ever more imperative that we chart a way forward to a fairer and more prosperous nation through independence.
